Production Notes

Sci-Fi -
General Notes: * We always stay with our main character, she never goes out of frameÉ like a book written in the first person.

  • She develops from a mod-con loving narrow-minded marine-biologist that irresponsible and ignorant of anything not related to her field of interest… into a knowledgeable, responsible, peaceful person with a respect for nature and actually kick-starts civilisation.
  • We have to understand Atlantis and enough about the beginnings of civilisation to understand the implications of the end fully. Establish this in Act Two a).
Act-One

HER: getting prepared for the journey ahead, wants to be the best marine biologist - has something to proveÉ doesn't care about anything else, very much like a teenager in many ways.

STORY: After a probe has returned from Europa, a team has been put together to go out there and take a submarine into the under-ice ocean. The team heads up, but early on in the mission they encounter a huge problemÉThe entire team are lost bar Main and a guy who's hurt badly (his purpose is not astronomy, not marine biology but some kind of anthropologist - in case life is discovered he can explore that in order to find as much more as possible before they leave).

Act-Two

HER: She learns to look after herself, fly and land, medicine to look after the guy, enjoy the peace of space etc.

STORY: Radio-communication is lost. They continue on their journey. The guy is an ancient historian of some kind (something that doesn't ruin the surprise though). They encounter various problems along the way. The mission is still to get there, put together a week's worth of information and return. (The original plan was to set up base for 6 months and transmit the data back).

HER: The arrival on Europa proves how much she's already developed. Can's more respect for nature and now history as well, as much of what she and guy have spoken about is revealing itself to be part of the development of life of Europa as well.

STORY: She arrives on Europa, lands and takes a sub down. She finds some incredible lifeÉ over the next few days she documents and records all sorts of amazing things, that have a huge implications on a universal scale. On the final trip, having made some curious calculations on the base, she heads to a specific area already lit up. She finds remains of an advanced civilisation!!

Act-Three

HER: From a ignorant disrespectful girl that began this story we end with a sophisticated and knowledgeable woman that is part of the beginnings of civilisation on planet earth.

STORY: The two of them speculate as they prepare to head back. When they reach the mother ship they discover the refuelling stations have gone, and the planets themselves are in the wrong place. They have to orbit around a planet to pick up sped for the homeward trip. They work out they must either be X number of years in the future or Y number of years in the past - the only two most logical explanations. The symbols on Europa tie in with all this.

They arrive back at Earth and find it in the past. From everything we've learnt about ancient history and civilisation we realise these two kick-start a particular civilisation on earth - perhaps even ONE specific lost civilisation - Atlantis.
